# Privacy Policy

> How Founder Sherpa collects, uses, and protects your personal information.

## Effective Date: March 7, 2026

At Founder Sherpa, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our platform.

## Information we collect

We collect the following types of information:

* **Account information**: Email address, full name, and password when you create an account
* **Workspace data**: Workspace names, member relationships, and role assignments
* **Project data**: Projects, personas, hypotheses, interview evidence, questions, and interview guides you create
* **Transcript data**: Interview transcripts you upload for AI processing
* **Notification preferences**: Your email notification opt-in settings and digest frequency
* **Usage data**: Browser type, IP address, and pages visited

## How we use your information

We use your information to:

* Provide and maintain the Founder Sherpa platform
* Process interview transcripts with AI services for evidence extraction
* Send transactional emails (welcome, password reset, workspace invitations)
* Send activity digest emails based on your notification preferences
* Enforce access control through workspace membership and roles
* Improve our services based on usage patterns

## Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:

## Data storage and security

* All data is stored in Supabase with Row Level Security (RLS) policies enforcing access control
* Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
* API communication uses HTTPS encryption
* Authentication uses JWT tokens with automatic expiration and refresh

## Data retention

* Account and workspace data is retained as long as your account is active
* When a workspace is deleted, all associated data (projects, evidence, personas, hypotheses) is permanently removed
* You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time

## Your rights

You have the right to:

* **Access** your personal data stored in the platform
* **Export** your project data using the built-in export features
* **Delete** your account and all associated data
* **Opt out** of non-essential emails via notification preferences

## Cookies

Founder Sherpa uses cookies for:

* **Session management**: Maintaining your authentication state
* **Workspace state**: Remembering your active workspace selection

We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

## Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the effective date.
